Galinsoga species - Gallant-soldiers
There are two garden annuals from this family that escape and establish themselves.
Galinsoga parviflora - Gallant-soldier used to be the commoner species. This is only slightly hairy. The seed (pappus) is distinctly 3-lobed.
Galinsoga quadriradiata - Shaggy-soldier is now much more commonly found. It is more densely pubescent. The seed (pappus) is unlobed or ± weak lateral lobes. The pappus is the definitive way to split them.
