Leontodon species -Hawkbits
Looks like the much commoner Autumn Hawkbit Scorzoneroides autumnalis but flowering stem unbranched and stems hairy with no scale-like bracts beneath flowers and the flower heads do not taper into the stem. Leaves have Y-shaped hairs on margin 🧐.
Leontodon hispidus Rough Hawkbit noticeable hairy leaves and unbranched stem (forked or trifid hairs 🧐). Outer ligules ±red underneath, and inner and outer achenes have hairy pappus. The flower stem has usually 5 vascular bundles when cut.
Leontodon saxatilis Lesser Hawkbit less hairy, especially stem, leaves only have forked hairs 🧐, shorter, smaller flower with grey outer ligules underneath. Only the inner achenes have pappus hairs, the outer have scales. The flower stem has 3 vascular bundles when cut.
