Mycelis muralis - Wall Lettuce
Distinctive leaves and inflorescence. Stem to 100cm green to purplish, widely branched above. Leaves may also be purplish with large end lobe and pinnatifid. Inflorescence with many capitula and well branched, Capitulum narrow with two rows of phyllaries, one set at the base and longer ones inside. Usually, 5 ligules which are 5 lobed. Achenes flattened, dark brown with a short yellow beak and a pappus of 2 rows of simple hairs.
